So now we are into Autumn 2012 and all is well with the world. I got a contract to work for another year so I suppose yay is in the order of the day. So no need to only use up my stash, but, my gathering of fabric to use when I no longer work can continue.
I have finished off my initial lines on the Irish chain as sell as sewing along the borders lines. Yesterday was a public holiday so I tacked the binding it place. My fingers are feeling quite ragedy with all the hand stitching that I have been doing. The only finger that is not sore is the one that I wear a thimble on, go figure. but the one I have under the quilt to make sure that the needle has actually gone through all the layers is feeling quite worn out as is the thumb and finger that holds the needle for the rocking through the fabric. What I need to do now is work out what I am going to put into each of the openings.I am quickly getting to the end of my YLI thread and this will be a big deal for me when I have done this as it means that I have hand stitched a mile of quilting.
I have made progress with my Dear Jane preparations. I have bought a bolt of fabric as my backing colour, gone through my stash as selected colours that I will be using and used a spreadsheet to mock up the colours that I want. As a celebration of getting a contract, my dear husband bought me the Dear Jane software, it cost $49 and $40 for shipping. Oh yay for living so far from civilisation!
So as the temperatures drop to 12 (12 degree Celsius = 53.6 degree Fahrenheit) in the mornings moving to 25 (77) the weather is feeling glorious.
Have a good one.
